Aftermarket

Here you will find a list of the top questions and answers for Aftermarket inquiries.

Depending on the flow computer type the upload process can be as simple as uploading a polynomial file to the system. SISA would process the PVT sample data to produce the polynomial file and verify the accuracy.  Installation can be undertaken remotely, during a service visit or by client personnel. Please contact us via Aftermarket.Solartronisa@ametek.com for further information on this process.

Typically, any approved documentation supplied in the last 15 years and sometimes beyond can be provided to the original client or the end user of the project.  To request project documentation contact us via Aftermarket.Solartronisa@ametek.com or visit the website Contact Us

We have several ways we can support your team remotely with expert support staff. We can remotely connect to your flow computer directly or via AR-enabled software complete with merged reality to support you through to a solution with video and phone support also available. All methods ensure efficient support and have proven improvements on first time fix rates. Please contact us via Aftermarket.Solartronisa@ametek.com for further information on this process or to book a remote session.

AMECARE Support contracts for Dualstream meters is available from delivery and throughout the operational life of the field. AMECARE support ensures the flow metering system operates at peak performance by providing scheduled service visits and priority remote support when needed. Please contact us via Aftermarket.Solartronisa@ametek.com for further information on this service.

Operator & Maintenance Training packages are available covering operation, configuration, and troubleshooting of the subsea or topside flowmeters specific to your project. These courses are offered at the Solartron ISA premises or can be set up onshore locally to your operating location. Please contact us via Aftermarket.Solartronisa@ametek.com for further information on this service or request Training via our website

Due to the sensitivity of the differential transmitters used on Solartron ISA flowmeters and as during well shut in, the flow is not entirely static, the output never sits at exactly zero. Our flow computers have integrated DP cut off functionality, which allows the DP value to be considered zero if below this threshold, no flowrate will be calculated in this scenario. If flowrates are being calculated during shut in, check the DP values, and adjust the DP cut off threshold accordingly. For further information on this check out our Quick Tip on DP Cut off

All ISA meters have a five-digit project number. It can be found on any piece of project documentation or the product name plate. For example on the calculation data sheet the last five digits of the document reference are the project reference i.e. CALC/XXXXX.

Solartron ISA’s Life of Field Support ensures ongoing maintenance and optimization of our flowmeters, helping you consistently obtain valuable data throughout the lifespan of your well. We typically assist customers in the following areas:

Measurement Verification
We ensure that the flow metering system is properly calibrated, maintaining system accuracy and reducing measurement errors.

System Integrity
Dualstream Verification ensures all parts of the measurement system are functioning correctly and the measurement accuracy is maintained.

Compliance
We ensure that the Dualstream system meets accuracy specifications and reduces the risk of errors leading to mismeasurement.

Downtime Prevention
AMECare Servicing and remote support can identify potential issues before they lead to equipment failure, thus minimizing operational downtime.

Cost Savings
Preventative maintenance can save long term OPEX costs by avoiding expensive repairs and extending the operational life of the equipment.

In many applications on plants and platforms only a single transmitter is required to monitor a process variable. In these cases, most are just configured to operate in analogue mode with a HART address set to 0.  With wet gas metering systems, it is quite different with most transmitters being used in digital mode with HART address set to 1.  Using a transmitter in digital mode provides far better accuracy and measurement range with the ability to poll transmitters that are wired point to point or in multidrop mode.  Not all HART communicators automatically poll addresses above 0, if the HART communicator will not poll the transmitters you may need to tell the communicator to poll addresses 1-15.

In any scenario we will endeavour to meet the mobilisation requirements of a service visit. Emergency support with guaranteed mobilisation time is available through our AMECARE support contracts.  Please contact us via Aftermarket.Solartronisa@ametek.com for further information on this service.
